Community-Guidelines

At AgriTok, we strive to build a professional, respectful network for farmers, agribusiness professionals, and rural developers. Content should focus on agriculture – e.g. farm management, livestock, agritech, climate-smart practices, rural development, and related business. Contributions should be constructive and on-topic, supporting a culture of learning and mutual help. Users are encouraged to share their expertise and questions in a friendly, evidence-based way. We do not allow off-topic, overly personal, or sensational content.

AgriTok community members collaborate and share farming knowledge in a spirit of professionalism and trust. Users should present accurate, helpful agricultural information – only “real and authentic” advice is allowed. Misinformation or false claims about farming techniques, crop yields, treatments, or climate issues are prohibited. Always verify facts and cite reliable sources when discussing agri-science or new technologies. Unsafe practices (like handling machinery or chemicals without proper caution) should never be promoted. Similarly, discussions of regulated or illegal items (such as banned pesticides or illicit agrochemicals) are not allowed. All posts should respect local laws and safety standards.

Professional Conduct and Content Guidelines

  • Stay on-topic. Share practical, relevant agriculture content: farming tips, agronomy research, livestock care, sustainable practices, market trends, farm business advice, agtech innovations, etc. We welcome diversity of crops and climates. Keep conversations professional and constructive. Off-topic chatter, gossip, or irrelevant memes may be removed.
  • Be Trustworthy. Use your real identity and accurate profile information. No fake profiles, impersonation, or misrepresentation. Provide transparent backgrounds for advice (e.g. experience, location) so others can gauge context. Posts must be authentic – we do not permit fraudulent claims, fake testimonials, or deliberate misinformation. If sharing third-party news or data, link credible sources.
  • Respect Intellectual Property. Only share content you have rights to. Cite or link to the original author when quoting agricultural research, farm reports, or articles. Do not plagiarize or violate copyright, patents, or trademark laws.
  • No Spam or Manipulation. Unsolicited advertising, chain letters, or repetitive promotional messages are not allowed. Do not use AgriTok features (polls, likes, comments) to artificially boost engagement. Always create original, relevant posts rather than mass-sending messages or invitations. (For example, an agricultural video or job posting can be shared once; do not repeatedly copy it everywhere.)
  • Promotions and Business Accounts. AgriTok distinguishes personal members from businesses. Companies, cooperatives, and entrepreneurs should use clear business accounts or tags. Promotional content (farm products, services, equipment) is allowed when explicitly relevant and clearly marked as advertising. Irrelevant or excessive self-promotion will be removed. Use official channels (like sponsored posts) if you want to advertise products. Do not post unsolicited ads to members or hijack conversations for marketing.

Respect, Harassment, and Inclusion

AgriTok values diversity in agriculture – we respect all cultures and communities. We foster an inclusive, harassment-free environment. All members must be civil and respectful in every interaction. Discrimination or hate speech of any kind is forbidden. Content that attacks or demeans others based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability, or any other personal trait is not allowed. Insulting remarks, slurs, or demeaning stereotypes – even in jest – will be removed. We also do not permit targeting members with sustained bullying or personal attacks.

  • Harassment & Bullying: No harassing language, threats, or intimidation of other members. This includes stalking, hateful jokes, or private messaging abuse. In line with professional networking, no unwanted romantic or sexual advances are allowed. AgriTok is not for dating.
  • Violence and Extremism: Content promoting violence, criminal activity, or dangerous behavior is strictly prohibited. Do not glorify illegal acts (e.g. sabotage of farms, poaching, weapon-making) or advocate self-harm or exploitation of others.
  • Safety and Well-being: Agricultural work can be hazardous, but do not share graphic or dangerous demonstrations without warnings. Avoid gory images or footage of accidents. Posts inciting panic (e.g. “eat this untested potion to double your yield”) are disallowed. Seek help if you notice a member in distress; do not ignore calls for help.
  • Respect Cultural Contexts: Agriculture is deeply cultural. We respect traditional practices and local knowledge. When discussing global topics (e.g. GMOs, climate change, land use), be factual and considerate of different viewpoints, without insulting any region or tradition.

Privacy, Identity, and Minors

  • Real Identities: Use your true name and credentials. Misrepresenting your identity or organization (for example, using a corporate account as a personal profile) violates policy. Do not share another member’s private data or impersonate someone else.
  • Personal Data: Protect privacy. Do not publish personal contact information or sensitive data about others (such as home addresses, ID numbers, or medical details) without clear permission. Requests for private data or doxxing are forbidden.
  • Minors: AgriTok is intended for adult professionals and farmers. If youth engage on the platform, members must not exploit or endanger them. Absolutely no sexual content involving minors or any form of child exploitation is tolerated. Follow local laws regarding age: generally, users should be over 16 (or have guardian consent). Any posts depicting children must be appropriate, respectful, and compliant with privacy laws.

Reporting Abuse and Misinformation

AgriTok depends on the community to stay safe and informative. If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately. You can report posts, comments, or profiles through the app’s reporting tool. (Generally, click the “…” menu on a post or profile and choose “Report”.) Provide as much context as possible.

When a report is submitted, our moderation team will review it. We may remove or restrict content or accounts that breach the rules. Serious or repeated violations can lead to account suspension. If you’ve reported something, we strive to follow up on your report. We encourage open communication: if your own content is removed and you believe it was in error, you may appeal through AgriTok’s support channels.

Examples of reportable content: hate speech, harassment, threats, explicit or dangerous advice, scams, or clear misinformation about agriculture. Reports of urgent threats or self-harm will be prioritized. Please use reports responsibly – false accusations or misuse of the report function can themselves violate community rules.

Enforcement and Community Standards

AgriTok aims to apply these guidelines consistently. Enforcement may include warning the user, hiding or deleting content, and in severe cases suspending the account. Our goal is to keep AgriTok a trusted space where everyone can share agricultural knowledge safely and professionally. Thank you for helping us uphold these standards so that all members – from smallholder farmers to agri-tech entrepreneurs – can learn and grow together.
